Skin
care tips
Proper skin care is important in health as well as appearance. Cleaning,
moisturizing and the use of sunscreen are vital in preventing
skin-related problems, such as dry or rough skin, deep wrinkles, liver or brown
spots, and skin cancer. Here are a few tips to proper skin care;
·
Hot water can leave your skin dry. Wash your face
with lukewarm water.
·
Use a mild cleanser or soap with a moisturizer to
wash your face. Stronger soaps will usually strip the oil from your face, which
will dry out your skin.
·
Wash your face with your hands rather than a
washcloth, which can be abrasive.
·
In general, the more you wash the dryer your skin
will be. So if you already have dry skin, washing once a day might be
sufficient. However, if you have oily skin, twice or even three times a day
might work better.
·
Long, hot baths
tend to leave the skin dry since it removes a lot of oil from the skin. Limit
baths to about fifteen minutes and use lukewarm water. After bathing,
immediately moisturize your skin with an oil or cream.
