Stomach
growling
Perhaps
it has happened to you, you are within earshot of several people when your
stomach makes that embarrassingly loud gurgling sound. While most people are
probably familiar with this few know what causes it. The cause of your stomach growling
is a process called peristalsis, which is what happens
as food and liquids are traveling through your intestines. What kind of food
you’ve eaten in the last 24 hours, how much you’ve eaten, how much air you
swallowed, are all factors in this process. Also, consuming carbonated drinks
or beer will add more air to your intestines, which is also a contributing
factor.
In
some rare cases the cause may also be a disease. However, if this were the
case, there would be warning signs such as an upset stomach.
